Aa part of The New Makers Company team, I was in charge of the product development - of a dining chair designed for the Fabrikos furniture line. In this design, prototype, and manufacturing endeavour, the  focus is to reimagine the timeless charm of the traditional Japanese carpentry while incorporating a series of details used in previous products keeping the same esthetical language.

A central aspect of this innovative approach lies in the development of a new joinery system - the double chamfer, subtly concealed within the armrest section. This ingenious system works in tandem with the inherent tension provided by the arch, imparting unparalleled stability to the individual pieces, while ensuring a flawless and tight-fitting assembly.

The culmination of this process has resulted in a truly magnificent piece - a chair that evokes memories of my past, reminiscent of the cherished chair that graced my grandfather's house for countless years. It serves as a heartfelt tribute to his enduring memory, infusing sentimentality into each meticulously crafted detail......
